PUPPY!!!

I have recently adopted a doggie from the SPCA. His name is Scorsese (Yes, after the director Marty Scorsese). Scorsese is two years old and is such a joy to be around. I taught him in the first month how to sit, stay, down, Hi-Five, and role over. He is quite smart and sometimes like to be mischievious. We go to the park a lot where he loves to play ball and run around. At home he loves to cozy up next to us on the sofa and acts like a big baby. I hope you'll get the chance to meet and play with him soon!

Family trip back to Vietnam in July 2011

I was thinking of planning a family/friends trip back to Vietnam in July of 2011. Let me know if you are interested. Maybe we can get a group discount on Airfare, tours, etc... We can check our grandma Susan's and great aunt Phoung's place in Vietnam. Kind of a family reunion and check out where our mom's grew up. Plus, that's the last year Liam can fly for free! LOL!!!

.about the little yan yan.

okay...so in case you are wondering what I'm up to, I thought I would just tell everyone. I graduated from San Francisco State University in May 2008 in Child and Adolescent Development with an emphasis in Young Child and Family. I currently work at Lombardi's Sports still...going on 7 years as the cashier's supervisor and woman's fashion buyer. I love being a buyer because it's like shopping! I get to go to Las Vegas and San Diego sometimes to see new collections from different brands and definitely use that free airfare to go party. Besides working at Lombardi's, I am trying to pursue my passion to work with young children, mainly infants and toddlers. I am currently a substitute teacher at the Tenderloin Childcare Center in San Francisco. I love working for that center because they cater to the low-income and homeless families of San Francisco and working there is fulfilling and rewarding because I know I am able to guide children in development and to have fun as well. I am hoping to pursue a full-time position by March, but if not I will look elsewhere. So for now, I have decided to go back to City College of San Francisco to get a certificate in Infant/Toddler development (I'm only two classes short of getting it)! I hope to have that full time position at TLC as well as look into a Master's program in Child Development. I haven't looked into that yet, but I will work on it shortly...if you have any advice or comments, let me know!

note to self...

so christmas day (yes, still talking about 2008) papa yan, gramma yan, kevin and i took a flight (with crazy turbulence) to vegas to hang out with mama sandy and tevin. we had a lot of fun watching shows and shopping, however...we realized that gramma yan can't walk as fast as we could and needed to take occasional pit stops to rest before arriving to the destination...below is a testament to the drastic measures we had to take in order to make it to our flight on time :) note to self: grams needs a set of wheels the next time we travel
